Over 90% Start Careers Without a Clear Direction

If you look around over 90% start their careers without a clear direction. Sometimes lucky ones land in careers by design, but everyone is not so lucky!

Most do not know where this job will take them. After few years in the same position, routine becomes so fascinating that often they are lost in fascination!

The excitement diminishes, which is a natural human process. If you keep doing the same thing again and again, you park yourself in comfort zone. These comfort zones make you lazy.

Its like when you start putting up weight, you do not realize until your trousers become uncomfortable, your neck becomes visible, and double chin hangs down from your face. At that stage, most people just buy the next size and continue their routine and keep putting further kgs.

However, there are few who start a walking routine, they hit the gym in the neighborhood or start yoga classes. They reduce their meal size, cut carbs, add protein, stop sugar intake. Depending on their age, some struggle, some get a quick response. Even those struggle, manage to maintain at least and gradually reduce their size.

In the process, there is always pressure from friends, colleagues and family. Eat, food is made for us, lets do not deprive yourself from this beautiful beef stake!

Those who simply ignore these comments and continue with their goal, are successful!

So, at the end of the day its our choice. Do we want to change and to change, we have to break some rules.

Best is to ask these three questions (Inspired from a great leadership trainer Marshall Goldsmith):

  1. Where am I going?
  2. Am I doing the right thing?
  3. If I am my own coach, what advice do I have for myself?

I believe, if we keep asking and responding to these questions, we will not get inspired by the land of laziness and our craziness will continue improving our lives and we may inspire some people around us!
